I thank God that we’re not bound to live by our experiences alone. Our experiences assist us in learning more about ourselves, and the world around us. Furthermore – our experiences & daily encounters shed light on the beliefs & thoughts that we’ve collected, inherited, chosen to practice – or, the ones that hold us captive…healthy or unhealthy.

We’re each left with the responsibility of searching deep within ourselves – courageously facing & clearing the impact (debris) from experiences that leave us with a poor/false self-image, or – with any feelings of being unloved. In other words – overcoming the harsh impact of experiences that misinterpret our worth is in our charge. This is especially true for those who have survived any form of abuse.

Psychology Today featured an article on the connection between writing & healing: Overcoming Child Abuse ~Reflections on Recovery, by Catherine McCall. I’ve included a link for your {review}.

One of the most rewarding experiences of my life has been the delving into the lies – the impact of abuse – and finding my worth! This arduous move was an act of self-love, one that affirmed – I am not bound to live by my experiences alone.

What are you learning through your experiences? Any harsh memories affecting your self-worth? Are you allowing yourself to heal?

Wishing you balance and well-being. ~Storm
