Whenever hearing of a story that includes conflict, remember there’s usually layered components involved. Considering we’ve only heard a piece of the story, it’s essential that we avoid fanning the flames of discord. Sometimes misguided loyalties (perhaps well intended) mislead us. The haste of verbal and emotional engagement fuels a needless fire (been there).
What story have you heard? Did it place a negative spotlight on someone? Do you know the full story, a perspective from all involved? Where are your emotions regarding the story? What side have you chosen? Are you defending behavior practices of someone who creates chaos?
What’s your contribution to the story? How would you feel if the story were about you?
There is a side of the story that allows for Divine alignment-spiritual development, transformation and peace of mind. Whether the story concerns family, friend or stranger; it takes knowledge, understanding, wisdom, strength and courage to separate oneself from assuming the role of being in the middle.
And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. ~Joshua 5:13-14 A
