Journaling can be a wonderful outlet of release. According to research, those who journal on a consistent basis have improved their sense of self-awareness, self-esteem or have found other rewarding ways to increase their overall well-being. Journaling paves a way not only for creative writing, it is also a way to gain insight on psychological and spiritual health.
We all need some outlet that allows us to express ourselves. Whether our expression is verbal, written or presented in some other form, it remains to be one of our basic needs. Journaling assists in meeting that need. Journaling can serve as a tool that opens the door for the release of many of our hidden, un-voiced and un-met inner needs. We can discover and recover many things about ourselves as we open up to through journaling. This includes learning to understand and accept ourselves.
What can you write about? Anything that concerns you. Start with a thought a day, stay consistent with that pattern. Examine the benefits or the lessons that you gain through taking small steps – keep examining. In time your thoughts will flow like water. Just keep writing!
