It’s a Hard Topic, but…

Reblogging this post is a mere reminder of how significant forgiveness is for over-all health (mind, body, spirit). We give ourselves permission to move away from the impact of harsh memories/experiences when we forgive. ~Storm

So here I go, referencing the topic of unforgiveness. Bear with me – I know that forgiveness is not as easy as it sounds. Master & Lord Jesus reminds us to forgive seventy-seven times (Matthew 18:21-22). That’s a lot of forgiving! It’s one of the most challenging paths to take. Perhaps we think that our offender is getting away with a particular offense. Or, maybe we think that they deserve far more than being forgiven. The truth of the matter is this – forgiveness is not about the offender, it’s about you. Forgiveness in no wise condones offenses – it liberates its victims from further injury.

I’ve watched myself over the years mentally experience, and re-experience a particular painful memory – only to set myself up for an emotional set-back! I’d end up attacking myself with self-injurious words because of someone else’s offense. Unforgiveness is relentless – it’s psychologically destructive…

Discipline, Order & Maintenance

In a world where competition is the norm, we are blessed if/when we can find our own rhythm, one that keeps us accountable & in Divine alignment. In part, this means that we’re not willing to give up the lessons that have graced our lives with self-awareness, inner healing, peace of mind & self-respect.

With much, comes much responsibility, no way of getting around it. Shifting around daily activities is a privilege…no reason to complain. However – it’s essential to not thwart, or sacrifice one’s own path that creates balance. Discipline, maintenance & order is primary in the midst of daily living.

Here’s an example – the world of writing is filled with helpful & impressive information! There are numerous books, professionals, websites & articles that highlight some of the best hosting sites – marketing tips, all sorts of video tutorials, social networking – to the technical side of things. The list is an extensive & informative jungle! Despite the “weeds” that “pop-up” from time to time – I’ve been able to gather many useful tools/ideas. Can’t help but mention Greg Narayan…an excellent resource! Along with the constant flow of solid information that’s available right here at WordPress!

That being said, no matter how much I review, or apply some of the findings – incorporating it within a “rhythm” that helps me to maintain a healthy balance, benefits my overall well-being.

Since I consider myself a newbie on the blogging scene, I am so available for new ventures – however, not at risk of losing my personal sense of perspective or direction – my inner harmony. It’s what keeps me centered, and personally responsible. This practice has little to do with being inflexible, and much to do with honoring discipline, maintenance & order. The aforementioned is not an unrealistic goal of perfection – rather, a way of life as I continue my personal evolution into the unknown.

If we’re not capable of discipline, self-maintenance & order as we move forward in life, what can possibly hope to gain?

As I participate with life, staying alert to its impact on my being – I am better equipped to practice the disciplines that keep me grounded (mind, body, spirit).

Journaling

With all the noise going on, the hustle of daily living – it can sometimes be challenging hearing one’s own voice. Setting aside time to journal is a healthy practice. A sentence, or 2 a day can make a world of difference. Honor Your Rhythm

As we live our lives, it’s much like finding our rhythm on the Djembe’ (African hand drum). Humbly commit to learning, no comparisons allowed. Participate authentically & trust that you will come into your own – let love, patience, work & time take its course. Your rhythm (just like mine) is essential as we have our being.

Your rhythm is your voice, it is your trust and instinctual timely as you move through each day.

It is up to us to accept our rhythm, as no one else plays that significant role in our lives.

As we learn to honor our rhythm, respect our rhythm – we honor our time & our lives – others will follow our lead.

I’ve watched myself over the years mentally experience, and re-experience a particular painful memory – only to set myself up for an emotional set-back! I’d end up attacking myself with self-injurious words because of someone else’s offense. Unforgiveness is relentless – it’s psychologically destructive. I can remember speaking to someone about the pain that was caused by their behavior – the person had no recollection of what I was talking about! A huge wake-up call for me! I couldn’t believe that I had to walk through the doors of forgiving them without a simple act of human courtesy – an apology.

Forgiveness is about self-preservation – a way of preserving our sanity and dignity. Forgiveness further gives us the rightful place of ownership, of our emotions and overall well-being.

Forgive – it’s not easy…it’s a process of time – but, your mind, body & spirit will gain a life worthy of its benefit.
